As important as it is for stakeholders or decision-makers to have buy-in and get excited about our work - it’s every bit as important to make sure we convey to our partners what factors led up to our recommendations. For example: If a development team was leaning towards (1) omitting an element of the design because it might take too much time to figure out, or (2) was not clear what the value of our recommendations bring to the product or solution, I would question “How might we communicate to that group the value of our work? How can we get them to understand that the road less paved might be worth the journey?” It is just as important to learn why they feel the way they do. This warrants the question, “How can we solution together"?”.
